    5 star experience for a really good price. The food on the boat was amazing. The crew were extremely friendly and also very professional. Made us feel safe and also comfortable. Our dive master Jo was super experienced and took us on 3 once in a lifetime dives. We saw it all, mantas, turtles, sharks, schools of fish, vibrant coral. Truly amazing. I couldn’t recommend these guys more, they were amazing!

Diving in Komodo

The dive sites in Komodo can be technically challenging due to the very strong current commonly encountered in many areas. It is important that the current conditions are understood, and dives are guided only by seasoned professionals that not only know where to dive but also understand when and how to dive the site.

Safety is always a priority. We choose dive sites that are appropriate for our divers based on their certification level, experience, and comfort. We check weather, tides and currents when we plan and check the currents upon arriving at the dive sites.

We base our dive groups on levels of experience and never assign more than 4 people to a guide.

All dives are boat dives. Luckily, Scuba Republic has one of the most comfortable and roomy day trip boats in the Park. The spacious dive deck is at sea level and has ample room to gear up. On our breezy top deck, you can recline on giant beanbags between dives while munching on a snack and taking in the breath-taking scenery.

As a bonus – we have a kitchen on board! Forget about soggy sandwiches and enjoy freshly prepared meals.

Diving with us in Labuan Bajo & Komodo National Park

  • Komodo is known for its strong currents, but many dive sites are suitable for all levels. If you're Open Water certified, you’ll already be able to explore a wide range of spots.

    Beginners are welcome too — we offer introductory dives and full training courses.

  • As a dive center, we affiliate with SSI for its conservative standards, free insurance during courses, superior online theory, and flexibility in learning speed/abilities. Ultimately, certifications are recognised worldwide and you can dive or continue education with either agency.

  • Absolutely! Our Discover Scuba Diving experience is the perfect way to explore Komodo’s marine life without prior certification. Our instructors will guide you step by step to ensure a safe and unforgettable first dive.

  • While walk-in bookings are welcome, we recommend booking dives and courses in advance, especially during peak seasons, to secure your spot and ensure availability.

  • Currents can range from mild to strong depending on tides and dive sites. Visibility usually ranges between 10 and 30 meters. Water temperatures go from 25°C to 29°C, with cooler areas in the south (as low as 22–23°C during certain months).

  • We offer daily dive trips from Labuan Bajo, liveaboard cruises, night dives, SSI courses, and custom diving packages for groups, families, or charter boats.

  • You’ll meet at our dive center at 6:30 AM. The boat departs around 7:30 AM. You’ll do 2 or 3 dives depending on your package, enjoy pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch onboard, and return around 5:00 PM. The schedule may vary depending on dive sites and conditions.

  • You can dive year-round! The dry season (April to November) usually offers the best overall conditions. The north is accessible all year, while the south is best visited between November and March, offering a very different underwater landscape.

  • Equipment rental is included in the price of the daily dive trip, only the computer has to be rented as an add-on. We offer well-maintained, high-quality gear: BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, dive computers Suunto 2025, masks, and fins.

  • We’re centrally located in Labuan Bajo, just a few minutes from the airport or harbor. Taxis and shuttles are easy to find. Feel free to contact us for directions or transport assistance.

  • You can pay via credit card (no surcharge), transfer, or cash in IDR, EUR or USD. Payments can be made in advance for unlocking course materials.

  • Yes, depending on the condition. Please, find attached a copy of the medical, you will need clearance from a medical professional.

  • Individuals must be at least 10 years old to participate in scuba diving courses.

  • SSI e-learning is available in many languages. We also have Instructors available to teach in English, Spanish, French, German, and Indonesian.
