Scuba Republic operates in the heart of the world’s coral reef biodiversity.

We offer all dive course levels,
from Try Scuba to Divemaster.

Our experienced instructors can teach in several languages. Depending on the location we can teach in English, French, Spanish or German. Please inquire directly about availability and options.

Please note, that before participating in any dive activities, you are required to fill out a medical statement. If any questions are answered with “yes”, you will need to be cleared to dive by a medical doctor.

Learn to Dive

SSI’s Try Scuba

Basic Diver program gives you the opportunity to experience the underwater world under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor – without committing to a longer certification program.

If you decide to become an Open Water Diver within six months of completing your Basic Diver program, your first open water dive will be credited as one of the required training dives.

Minimum Age: 10

Prerequisites: None

Academic Sessions: Basic Diver (Online Program)

Open Water Dives: 1

Maximum Training Depth: 12 meters / 40 feet

Duration: One day experience

Get Certified

SSI’s Open Water Diver

A globally recognised certification program and the first step to lifelong addiction. This entry-level course includes knowledge development (theory), confined water dives (practical training), and open water dives (experience).

Minimum Age: 10

Prerequisites: None

Academic Sessions: Open Water Diver (Online Program)

Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 6

Open Water Dives: 4

Maximum Training Depth: 18 meters / 60 feet (age 15+)

Duration: 3-4 days

Certification: SSI Open Water Diver (age 15+) / Junior Open Water Diver

Advanced Scuba Training

Upgrade your license! Build confidence and expand your scuba skills. SSI’s Advanced Adventurer allows you to experience 5 different open water dives from 5 different SSI Speciality programs without requiring you to complete the entire Speciality.

An SSI Advanced Adventurer may count each individual Adventure Dive they complete toward the applicable SSI Specialty program.

Minimum Age: 10; 12 if Deep Diving dive is included

Prerequisites: Open Water Diver / Junior Open Water Diver

Academic Sessions: Online learning

Pool/Confined Water Sessions: Not more than 5

Open Water Dives: Not more than 5

Maximum Training Depth: Varies

Duration: 2 days

Certification: SSI Advanced Adventurer (age 15+) / Junior Advanced Adventurer

Speciality Programs

SSI Speciality programs are a great way to improve your current skills and learn new ones. When you complete a certain number of logged dives and Specialty programs you will earn and automatically receive the recognition cards: Speciality Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver – one of the most elite ratings in diving today.

Each Scuba Republic location offers a slightly different set of Speciality programs. The courses typically include knowledge development (theory), confined water dives (practical training), and 2-3 open water dives (experience). The duration of a Speciality course is 1-2 days.

Popular Specialities offered include Deep Diving, Navigation, Night and Limited Visibility, Waves, Tides & Currents, Enriched Air Nitrox and Photo & Video.

Emergency Training

React Right

The SSI React Right

Provides students with the knowledge and training to act as a first responder and provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and/or provide Automated External Defibrillation (AED) support in the event of a medical emergency.

Minimum Age: 12

Prerequisites: None

Maximum Training Depth: Knowledge Program

Duration: 1 day

Certification: SSI React Right

Diver Stress & Rescue

The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue program teaches the skills and concepts required to identify stress, prevent accidents, and properly deal with emergency situations encountered by divers.

Minimum Age: 12

Prerequisites: Open Water Diver / Junior Open Water Diver Students must have proof of current training within two (2) years of First Aid and CPR (e.g. SSI React Right)

Academic Sessions: 2

Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 2 (+1 Optional)

Open Water Dives: 3

Maximum Training Depth: 30 meters / 100 feet (age 15+)

Duration: 2-3 days

Certification: SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Speciality (age 15+) / Junior Diver Stress and Rescue Speciality

Scuba Dive Professional

Dive Guide

This program gives you the skills and experience required to safely lead groups of certified divers and is the first step towards an exciting career as an SSI Dive Professional.

Below you find a list of the prerequisites to become a Dive Guide. But don’t worry if you are not there yet! We have a variety of options for Zero to Hero candidates as well as divers who have already completed all the required courses.

The program can take anything from one to six months, depending on the level you’re at when you start the program, your dive experience, and the intensity of the course.

Dive Guide / Divemaster courses are offered at both Komodo Dive Centre & Raja Ampat Dive Center.

Minimum Age: 18

Certification Prerequisites: Advanced Adventurer, Diver Stress & Rescue certification, 40 logged Dives, certification or equivalent experience: Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility, Deep Diving.

Divemaster

The SSI Divemaster

Recognizes candidates that have the knowledge and training necessary to perform the duties of a certified assistant. These duties include assisting SSI Instructors with conducting entry-level and continuing education scuba training programs.

As a Dive Guide Divemaster is the next step in your professional dive career.
